Mamalarky – Won’t Give Up

Mamalarky’s Won’t Give Up arrives as the final teaser before their album Hex Key drops, and it’s a fittingly stubborn closer. The track bounces along on a syncopated bassline while Livvy Bennett delivers a stream-of-consciousness takedown of music industry platitudes—because apparently, what’s “good” isn’t always what sells. Or so they’ve been told.

It’s a song about persistence, but not the inspirational kind. More like the teeth-gritted, “fine, I’ll keep going, but I’m not happy about it” variety. The groove shimmers just enough to make the bitterness go down smooth, like sugarcoating a middle finger.
